When’s the Best Time to Elope in Las Vegas?
Las Vegas is one of the most popular elopement destinations in the world — and for good reason. It’s fast, fun, flexible, and unforgettable. But if you’re wondering when to plan your Vegas elopement, you’re not alone. Timing can make a big difference in everything from your ceremony photos to your overall budget. In Episode 4 of Your Vegas Elopement podcast, I’m breaking down exactly when the best time to elope in Las Vegas is, plus a few things you should watch out for. Here’s what you need to know.
Spring (March–May)
Spring is one of the best times to elope in Las Vegas thanks to its mild temperatures and mostly sunny days. You’ll avoid the blazing summer heat, and the desert landscape is usually at its prettiest. Expect pleasant daytime highs in the 70s and 80s, making it perfect for outdoor ceremonies and photo shoots.
Pro tip: Spring is a popular season, so book your vendors early to lock in your date and avoid higher prices.
Fall (September–November)
Fall is another amazing window for a Las Vegas elopement. The heat starts to ease off, and you’ll get beautiful golden sunsets that look incredible in photos. Like spring, fall weather is comfortable, with temperatures ranging from the 70s to 80s during the day and cooler evenings.
Pro tip: Watch for big conventions or events (like the F1 race in November) that might drive up hotel rates and crowd levels.
Winter (December–February)
Winter in Las Vegas is mild compared to many other places. Daytime temperatures usually hover in the 50s or 60s, making it a cozy and comfortable season if you want to skip the crowds and get the best deals on venues and hotels. Plus, the Strip is beautifully decorated during the holidays.
Pro tip: It can get chilly at night, so plan to bring a jacket or a stylish shawl if you’ll be celebrating outdoors.
Summer (June–August)
There’s no sugarcoating it — Vegas summers are hot. We’re talking triple-digit temperatures in July and August. If you do choose to elope in the summer, schedule your ceremony early in the morning or closer to sunset to beat the heat, and plan for plenty of water breaks if you’re outdoors.
Pro tip: Summer rates for hotels and flights can be surprisingly affordable since fewer tourists want to face the heat — so it could be a great budget-friendly option if you plan carefully.
